In February 2017, Standards Australia launched a new standard around the safe design, manufacture, erection, and commissioning of power driven car parking; the standard known as AS5124. This has been adopted from the European standard EN14010, and serves as an important guideline for ensuring a minimum level of quality, reliability, and safety for parking systems in Australia.
We, the team at Wohr Parking Systems Australia, feel that safety of such systems should be the utmost priority, as a testament to this, WPSA was a key driver and acted as the lead consultant in the definition of this standard and we are taking the initiative in upholding it in our operation. We were able to draw upon the 60 years of industry experience from our parent company Wöhr Autoparksysteme GmbH, who also consulted in the development of the original European standard. As a result, we are qualified - second to none – to guide you through the compliant design of your parking systems.
In order to comply with AS5124, each system design must undergo intensive testing by a third-party body and be certified as compliant. Each of our system designs are fully certified by the TÜV in Germany, an organisation established in the late 1800’s dedicated to the inspection and certification of mechanical equipment. Only equipment that has been certified by a trusted independent body can be said to comply with AS5124.
